How long can you expect to wait for any sign of action after you have made a complaint? A day? A week? A month? A year? Maybe people just hope that Alzheimer's will set in before anything is done, and that things will just be forgotten.

I phoned a well known bank (Barclays is well known isn't it) to complain about being kept waiting while they dealt with a query. I was kept on hold by the customer services for 10 minutes while they looked into it. I suppose you could argue that they were maintaining standards (no matter how low they were)
