NOBS Regional Officer, David Homer, announces a fantastic link up between NOBS and Scottish Association for Country Sports regarding cooperation and insurances. Follow the link for full details - except that there arent any details if you so do!!!!!
Even checking on their Shop Section doesnt have any information, although there seem to be a lot of items that are sold out or out of stock!!! When will new stocks be purchased or has all their money been spent of raffle tickets for the Beaters Wagon?
Presumablythis insurance deal has to be paid for by members and isnt free - should be interesting if NOBS pay up on their claimed 9,000 members and not their actual figures - or is it reliant on their members paying for it separately?
Interesting, because I believe that there is a very significant commission paid to SACS on the premium - will this be passed on to NOBS members as a discount?
SACS itself has its own problems with members disatisfaction with its operations and many resignations so NOBS should feel at home.

It appears that getit must be compulsory reading for Mr. Homer as within a short time of the post regarding the spurious link, the link itself disappeared!!!
Still there is hope, as you can telephone the NOBS Office for details, but remember it is only staffed by one overworked and harassed person between the hours of 10.00 am to 2.00pm. Monday to Friday, after that said person needs to relax from the stress of answering enquiries regarding mssing membership cards paid for months before!
What do all the other people in the organisation with a variety of titles actually do?
Or are they all off enjoying freebies at the CLA? |

NOBS trumpeted about this "fantastic" deal for members and how wonderful it would be for both NOBS and SACS.
Funny that Ive just had a look at the SACS website and there is no mention of it!!!
Perhaps they are even slower than NOBS in updating things?
Just hope their membership records are up to date, NOBS arent!!! |

SACS are desperate for new members since they sold the lurcher and terrier folk out. TBH i wouldn't give them the steam off my piss , Ian clark the director is a spinless excuse for a man his constant lying and bad attitude members are leavinf at a rate of knots. If the offices wern't in his garden i'm sure he'd of had the boot up his arse before now.
I've got details of a very good insurance deal that may be of interest to you and pubs members, much cheaper than sacs and the other organisations as all it offers is insurance nothing else. |

Latest update from NOBS Website
You can now pay £20 for membership which will include the insurance package.
It says that it includes third party liability cover, no mention of any legal expenses or other cover which was trumpeted in the earlier announcement on their Forum.
Strange that the application forms have to be sent to an address in Suffolk, designated NOBS Membership.
Have they closed the office in Swindon? Has their one member of staff decided ennuf is ennuf like a lot of their members already have?
If they arrange insurance cover as quickly as they send out membership cards then their members will be covered for 2011 season rather than the present and next ones.
Is it down to members to alter their direct debits?
will they be notified individually?
what happens to the 25% commission that SACS/NOBS get?
Oh what a muddle I can see, even with the best intentions, on current track record people would be better off joining another organisation . |

| I will speak to you at the weekend about the insurance deal Nick. I'm sure you will find it satisfactory. It actually works out much cheaper than the nobs one lol |

NOBS Insurance Package will be superior to anything your tiny organisation can arrange, the link up with SACS gains a big discount on premiums. _________________ TheGatekeeper

Lets get this straight - I am not on a crusade against NOBS even if it apears so. I support their aims but dont see the necessity for people to have to pay which is why I founded PuBS, where everything is FREE.
At one time anyone asking questions on their corporate structure - and I for one did not realise until I searched that NOBS was not a charity, not a noting for profit organisation but was instead a limited company and had a board of directors who no one has informed me who elected them or to whom they are responsible- was banned forthwith and effectively silenced.
If only they were more transparent, answered questions, stated their actual paid up membership as opposed to hypothetical figures, then I am sure that their members- who pay but have no say in their operations- would not be regarding them as a mere money gathering organisation as so many disenlightened ex members now regard them.
When people pay they expect results and accountability but NOBS currently does not deliver either.
