at present 28% of the Forum members will not pay for the priviliege of using the Forum after jan 2009 when only fully paid up members will be permitted to post, the remainder will be "read only".
they hope that more NOBS members will participate as they will be entitled as they will have paid - only 7% of their Forum members so indicate.
as the membership records of NOBS are apparently in a mess can one with confidence assume that people who have paid will be permittted access?
Seems it is down to the individual to contact a Mod or RO to confirm they are registered?
Why this constant emphasis on paying fees?
Seems that some of their ROs and Mods are keener on joining other Fora - do they have inside information?
Are they following other people or organisations to try and denigrate their efforts and objectives?
Watch this space for developments.
And any other "secret" things which their membership may need to know to make an informed choice from Jan 2009

It's just a money making scam hiding behind respectable words like "National" and "Organisation". It's not a club, its a business and they won't admit it.  Don't think they really offer a lot, and their forum just seems to duplicate things available elsewhere now.

There're also some pretty mean-minded individuals in rather "high up places" who seem to only want their "club" to do well, and will try and block anyone else's success.

If they have 9000 members as they state then their accounts should reflect this as £45,000 income.  What have they done with all that money?

as anyone can see membership cannot be as so frequently claimed - I have been told less than 2000 probably fewer now-and their forum claims 4000+ even though few people are actively posting and most are mods or their relatives
I find it rather sad really that such a brilliant concept is failing

Yet they still manager to get press coverage and make it sound like they are something special!

We all know that the Founder has moved onto Help the Heros (a worthy cause) and left the thing to be run by a group of persons who obviously cant run a bath let alone a business.

A quick trawl through companies house -

http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk...90a7c74e774ec14749785/compdetails

shows that their acounts are overdue.

NOBS FORUM POLL UPDATE
34% will not pay to post

as only about 20 people are active anyway does this mean that only 13 will be active?

Why the delay in submitting the accounts?
Although any chicanery is most unlikely I am sure that many of their members (less than 2000 in total) will be concerned when they become aware of this fact.
i believe that extended delays can result in penalties being applied to the Directors and possible fines for the company.
To clarify to those who are not aware
NOBS is a LIMITED COMPANY with a board of directors, not a CHARITY, and noone seems to know who appoints Directors or to whom they are responsible.

Well, thank goodness many of us were wary and moved away!

I've run businesses for over 30 years and early in my business life  developed a 'suspicious' nose, as I found that so many business people are as bent as nine-bob notes (though the Govt' doesn't seem to give a toss!) and in general people seem to be just out for themselves and really couldn't give a monkeys about others!   They just tread them into the earth!

NOBS concerned me, as it did a number of other members who contacted me early on in NOBS' life.  To me, it seemed to be more concerned with the commercial aspects rather than the placement of beaters etc.

I'm glad that suspicions have been raised .... because although I endorse the NOBS original ethos, it seems to me that it has totally lost track, or has been misrepresenting its true status and aims.

I hope that PuBS continues to offer a very good, free service to all and sundry ... in which case I shall continue to give it my full support!

had a look and i have ordered the june 2008 acconts and will update this page when I have analysed them - many years of banking has still left some abilities!!.
Interesting that they have submitted the accounts but not the Companies Return - previously all have been submitted at the same time.

Even more interesting that TWO new directors have been appointed - who are they, what  is going on?
Once again a fee paying membership has no knowledge of what is happening.
Who appoints Directors, what are their responsibilities and duties and to whom are they responsible?
When will the management of NOBS realise that they cannot ignore their membership and saying "its only a fiver a year" wont wash any more - I hear rumours that many are voting with their feet and not renewing.
They still persist in claiming a false membership figure both for NOBS and their Forum - once the media realise that it is built on a mirage will they be afforded any crediility?

Well, they must have started to shut it down now as I seem to not being able to send any PM's any more - I thought that the forum was meant to be run by an independent company, someone impartial so they didn't end up in the mess they did some time ago about people with admin access  reading/maybe-reading other peoples pm's. It's still the same old story: they will gladly take your money and then they'll pick and choose which people that are 'the flavor of the month' and will get the beating and picking-up at the shoots they would like them to go and which ones that should have access to their board.

BTW - does anyone have the result of the sealed bid thing that was advertised in the members mag? I would actual have liked to placed a bid but although one in this household was a paid up member, we still didn't get the mag? I guess that bidding thing was only for selected people as well and not really to raise as much money for 'the good cause' ?????? I'
