Latest news is that they have taken so long to get this competition completed that NOBS are now asking for contact details for two category winners and the overall winner!!!!!

Surely anyone with an ounce of common sense, and especially when people have to pay MONEY to enter a competition, would ensure that full address and contact details are taken from them- along with their hard won CASH as well?

One excuse for the delays was that entry fees were having to be collected from pics entered by members- surely that should have been a precondition?

Even the guy delegated to run the competition admits he rarely gets on the NOBS Forum!!!

The delays have been blamed on the actual Judge!!! Who the hell is going to risk judging any competition run by NOBS after that?

Piss up and brewery spring to mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Volunteers they all may be but surely when money is involved then one should expect a degree of professionalism in running things.

Still it is now commonly accepted that NOBS is more about prising hard earned cash from punters than actually getting people out beating and picking up, after all they are now running scurries to raise cash instead of concentrating on their core tasks.

It may well be the case that the people concerned, like so many of their so called members, have got pissed off waiting for things to happen and given up on NOBS!!!!!!!

Dont forget though, that anybody who registered on NOBS - even if they have NEVER EVER PAID a subscription is still counted as a member so that they can claim an ever increasing membership.

Would their sponsors continue if they were appraised of the true situation?
Would advertisers pay for copy in their newsletters if they were appraised?
Would they get FREE stand space at shows if the organisers were appraised?
Will they ever admit their ACCURATE membership figures - ie all thse who actually pay?
Is it true that Mods and ROs etc pay nothing? Nobody knows- outside of the select circle- because thay are more secretive than Freemasons!!!!

How they have the balls to sign up new members is amazing!!!!

Any comments appreciated - even from NOBS!!!!

A NOBS member has just entered the 2008 compeition!!
Is he late or is he hoping that it will be in time for the 2009 one?
On past performance it may well be better to forget it all together!!!

As two section winners and the overall winner cant be contacted (yet another cock up) what will happen to their prizes?
The straight thing would be to tell the donors that their prize cant be awarded - whats the betting on that happening?
Will it be awarded to the second position instead?
Will everyone be told?
Oh dear we took so long to get the results sorted the winners decided they had had enough, and like many others, voted with their feet and left!!!

Weaselly is spot on no further news or information but TWO category winners and the overall winner dont seem to be contactable by NOBS and nothing further after an appeal for their contact details-will the prizes be absorbed as so many others have been by NOBS hierarchy?

Time scale for this competition:
July 30th 2008 Rules and entry fees etc posted closing 31/12/08
Sept 2 Organiser announced launch
Sept 4 Post stating that they hadnt realised access to the posts was restricted to Mods and RO's(about par for their organisational abilities)
Promise of GREAT PRIZES!!
Dec 4 Reminder to some people to send entry fees in!!!!
Dec 17 Another reminder for above (maybe they realised it was a waste of money)
Jan 12 2009 Extended date for entry money 31/01/09
Jan 17 first enquiry re results
March 3 Organiser apologised he was busy, entries with Judge
March 20 Judge away so no results
May 28 More enquiries organiser promises to get results on Forum soonest
June 8 Results posted
July 20 Appeal for contact details for two category winners and the OVERALL winner!!!

Piss up/brewery comes to mind
You couldnt write a script more comical and unbelievable!!
What will happen in 2009?
Will the Judge want to be blamed for organisational failure yet again?

"The post went like this......Michelle won two prizes in the nobs photo comp, she recieved one fairly quickly a shooting bag from Lee Hurst, the other prize was a pistol (I take that to mean a starting pistol) which she has not yet recieved. It stated in the post that Neil Dale was to send the pistol, well after trying to contact him though various means, she recieved no reply or her pistol. So I think she posted, as it was meant to be a wake up call, and asked if anyone was in contact with ND to pass on the message. Kev Rule was logged on at the time and no doubt removed it, so not many people got to see it, shame that.

So basically Michelle has won a pistol in the photo comp, and ND has not sent it to her. "

And her posts have been deleted!!!! As are any questions which NOBS management cant or dont want to answer, or which raise valid questions which DO need an answer.

No wonder the reputation of NOBS is so low nowadays, and dont tell keepers you were, or still are, a member - it may be the last thing you do!!!

They keep (or lose

) the prizes and don't reply to the emails asking what has happened. Been there and seen it with my own eyes.

I do hope they REALLY have a Beaters Trailer in their raffle to be drawn at the Midland Game fair- its rather large to hide away!!!
Still one of the hierarchy's shoots may well be well equipped soon.
have they no shame?
Things keep disappearing - just read about missing raffle prizes, donated subscriptions to shooting magazines, dog food etc etc - all on getit!!!
Does get wearing being NOBS conscience there are so many cock ups, failures and just damn bad organisation and management.

Sc lot have locked a thread on their forum coz there were a few snotty posts after they changed the rules and peed lots of people off.
easier then deealing with it i suppose.
