Some of the Forum members on NOBS have raised questions regarding the image of their President after recent scuffles/semi brawl.
Shame that high profile people go out somewhere and every macho punk wants to show off to his mates when fuelled with alcohol takes a swing and gets his come uppance.

actually someone is questioning on NOBS the suitability of someone who had his SGC revoked being President -at present they are getting chewed over but do have supporters too.
Anyway it matters not what their members want or feel- they pay a membership fee but have no say in the running of NOBS itself - that is down to a Board Of Directors and no one seems to know, or will inform their members, to whom they are accountable or who appoints them - and there are two new faces on the Board and no one in the ordinary membership seems to have been told about them.
About time their true paid up membership figures of both the Forum and NOBS itself were declared - a lot different to the false claims they make.
After Jan 1st when only paid up members can post will they amend the figures - or do we have to guesstimate by the number posting? |

| What an absolutely idiotic choice of "president"! As if shooting and field sports needs any more excuses for bad press.... Wonder what went thru their little brains when they selected him? |

Unfortunately as has been pointed out the actual fee paying members have no say in the matter that is down to an unelected Board of Directors who hide in the background.
The actual people running NOBS are not accountable to the members and cannot be deselected by them so they end up paying subs but have no say in running either NOBS Forum- who appoints their Mods and who deselects them?-or NOBS itself. |

Actually I hear it was the CEO who locked it personally - yet another example of how their Forum restricts free speech by members.
Forum is a place to debate matters - except NOBS where any awkwardness results in locked threads, or deleted posts or suspension or even banning of the member being "awkward" |

Thank goodness some of us (er, many of us) used our feet and no longer support NOBS. Their original aim was great, but it's all fallen apart ...... being a NOB is no longer something to be proud of IMHO. In fact I'd be rather ashamed to be a NOB these days!
There's far more to beating and country sports than an organisation which is stuffed full of over-self-opinionated, power-crazy twits (with an I not an A!) more interested in media attention than placing beaters etc .. and which has totally lost direction. Poor leadership, poor management, wrongly appointed people (those who were 'known' were appointed ... not those who had proven skills and abilities) ... it was simply a recipe for disaster. NOBS just grew too quickly IMHO and couldn't cope with the rate of expansion.
I feel very sorry for the original organisation .... but it seems to me that many people were well over their heads .... and quickly drowning. I just hope that PuBS can resuscitate them, keep their interest in beating alive and get them back on their boots again!
Well done PuBS .... recent comments I've received at various shoots show that PuBS is now regarded as the place to turn to!

PS Interest in the 'beating' pages on shootpics.co.uk has increased tremendously and other countryside sites now recommend it as the main source of info on beating. All pages are popular but just recently there has been increased interest in the 'sticks' pages. But suggestions to improve the site are always welcome, particularly from PuBS members. We are very pleased to have an association with PuBS and continue to support the organisation. _________________ www.shootpics.co.uk

As I also supported and still do, the ambitions of the NOBS founder, Mark Elliott, I was saddened at the way the organisation handled its members and the concerns they raised on their Forum, and I was suspended from that Forum for voicing my concerns- I founded PuBS, to continue the work that NOBSwas founded to do but I felt was failing- and it seems that the KISS approach is working.
More people are finding beating and picking up opportunities and it doesnt cost them a penny. PuBS doesnt need to have a vast database of members and people dont even have to join it to benefit.
The shooting press have ignored two press releases from PuBS admin but will not be able to ignore the benefits which PuBS have generated for much longer.
