Why is it that certain people from NOBS follow me around to whatever Forum I join and then post disparagingly about my motives until that Forum decides I am too troublesome to have as a member?
Why is it that the same organisation is tending to play the heavy handed bully with other Fora?

Cause they ve nowt better to do that s why and must have a sad life !
Edited to add, and not worth bothering with and they should be ashamed of themselves for bring the country sports into disrepute.
They should be more concerned in generating interest in the sport rather than victimising people, the country sports already has enough bad feeling among protesters against it and the last thing they should want is an organisation getting a bad name for the sport because of a select few from within.

Hi marty
I joined the Scottish Gamekeepers Association and within hours a NOBS Regional Officer and several others registered, then a few more - paranoid I am!!
Still shows that PuBS is worrying them and it is also working.
I advertised personally for picking up - a point which one of the newcomers petulantly pointed out- asking if it inspired confidence in PuBS efficacy if the founder had to advertise himself.
Only trouble is Im beating 4-5 times a week with two dogs and wanted picking up only for my other two ( lab bitch and springer dog trained just to pick up) - and I found it through PuBS!!!!!!!
The thread has since been deleted as that Forum was not an appropriate place to continue acrimonious debate.
Thats why this is here.

I started having doubts about NOBS when Scott suddenly left. I didn't take to the new people who came into the hierarchy.
The final straw came when they sent me a reminder for my subs 4 months before they were due! I haven't had anything to do with them since. |

The problems that I have is that everything appears to be so secretive..
Every other organisation to which I belong sends members Accounts and a Report annually, or the same are published to a website for scrutiny by members. I asked and was told they were available at Companies House- at a cost of £18 (then) per set. I have now got two recent years accounts.
NOBS is a limited company not a club or charity and has a Board of Directors- I have not found out who appoints them, or to whom they are accountable - not the members- most of whom have no awareness of the company format and its structure.
I do not deny that it is run by keen and supportive volunteers like most organisations but once fees were introduced I am sure that many declined to pay but are still counted as members - the Accounts so indicate.
I have also heard that some people are still not recordeded even though they have had payments deducted, in some case for several years.
I feel that the payment to Beaters and Pickers up is so low that having to pay to get the opportunity to participate is absurd.
Paying £75 for a course to go Beating seems rather high to me, and similarly if there is a need for a Dog First Aid course then asking people to pay for it is not on.
