Wow! Had an accident tonight when a young lady ran into the back of my car. (Driving much too close, though she blamed the 'icy' conditions. Well my onboard computer thingie said it was not likely to be icy and in any event it happened right next to a hospital where the roads had just been gritted! We exchanged details standing on the road - no ice!)
As an 'oldie' I'm insured with Saga .... and I have to say what a brilliant service they offer:
one phone call and everything is sorted! No forms to fill in; my car will be collected and another one left for me to use whilst repairs are made; and the team will let me know by phone exactly what stage has been reached all the way through.
Superb service. Thanks Saga .... a lot of hassle reduced to just a phone call!

PS There has been a lot of ice on untreated roads recently .... and numerous vehicles have been seen to take to the countryside via the hedges near us! (Particularly 4 wheel drives doing the school run!)
Can I plead with people to drive carefully when the conditions dictate? So many drive too close, do 'jerky' movements, brake harshly and otherwise put themselves (and others) at greater risk.
In some circumstances it may be impossible to avoid an accident but I have a feeling that others could. My wife is an accident waiting to happen!!! Only the bus routes around here are gritted and our hill is often icy. Off the gritted road and on to the untreated and it's darned dodgy!

So the M27 then?????
As for the 4be4 mothers on the school run, what do you expect? Husband has spent £50K on a 4x4 for the wife 'cause it's safe' yet wife has no idea what the 4x4 is (unless of course its something to do with why the husband turns up at 11.13pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, with lipstick on his collar, saying he has been "off roading" with the girls from the office and by the way, Wendy has a lovely tight exhaust)
These types cost me money and should be put down and the wives (who are ALWAYS blonde, young and know how to employ a cleaner from the former soviet block for £3 a year) should be washed and brought to my tent! _________________ Bastard for Hire.

LOL! Haven't touched the M27 for a while, Cpt! But I take it that gritting may be a bone of contention?!
The accident was at the RHCH in Winchester ..... and not a touch of ice to be seen!
Your comments on 4x4 owners may be incredibly true in certain counties (who said S-X?!) ..... but in Hampshire?!! Well, OK yah! Youz right old fruit! The 4x4ers near me stop 2 feet from the bank whilst I negotiate the opposite one in my car with both n/s wheels 2 feet up it! The Hampshire Hags (broomsticks and hair extensions in the back!) don't even acknowledge the fact ... but then applying lipstick and fluffing up their hair seems to be a higher priority. Jeez, which idiot put a mirror in the driver's sun thingie?!!

PS If Wendy has a tight exhaust please do mention Tracieeee .... she has big bumpers too!
