I have heard that there are comments on NOBS presence at shows and game fairs and some people feel that their approach is amateurish to say the least.
As their stands are provided free of charge and staff manning it get free passes they are stuck with what is provided. End of story.
However for an organisation that is over three years old with over 9,000 members and a potential income from them in excess £50,000 per annum
it may be reasonable for members to feel disgruntled.
Imagine how much more could be done with a professional looking set up.

They seem to be very touchy on their own site about their stand.
One of the ROs even shouting at a young lady who pointed out some issues.
They do get very defensive.
Fact 1 - their CEO was sat on his arse at 910am inside the stand with nothing out.
Fact 2 - Ginger RO seen walking around in cloud cuckoo at 940am looking for stand.
Fact 3 - Stand was never busy.
Fact 4 - NOBs paid up member attends stand - gets told there is some grouse beating available in Scotland - asks for details gets told to get in touch after show as they were not sure. He rings office on Monday - they know nothing - sends e-mail to CEO no reply. Full of shite.
Fact 5 - 2 ROs spent most of their day sat on their arse.
Fact 6 - Stand looked awful and was standing joke with other traders.
Fact 7 - CEO spent most of his time getting freebies for himself (again)

NOBS presence at game fairs... Do they actually go to them? Not up here they dont... Not counting the big one, where its really a junket. Offers of help were ignored and then complaints that they had to do it all themselves.
I asked about an attendance at one show and was told to contact my RO, I did. I'm still waiting on a reply from her. Several PM's a couple of emails and phone calls and I'm still waiting. and this was April.. So I guess they aint doing anything up here.. again.
Damn good idea this rant site.. Just wait till I get started about how they talk down to you.

David and everybody
Thaks for your input
I got so cross at the way that people are treated elsewhere on other forums and the way that people from another forum and site followed me around, joined every other site and Forum which i joined, then started the backbiting and petulant comments to which I have become accustomed and inured that I started this forum to getitorfmychest!!
Several other forums have pulled threads or even deleted my account as a result of what was posted.
Rest assured this forum is to display to all who care to read it the concerns, questions and feelings of the forum members.
Awkward questions and abuse, rants etc are welcome

I still have the VERY first NOBs database, interesting reading, it shows most of their so called "experts" registered with NOBs as "Total Novices" yet they are now all internet instant experts

Internet Experts... yep, says it all.
Total novices who who cant wait to tell you where your going wrong and showing their knowledge on any and every subject. When pressed on anything, a little crowd forms and your accused of badgering..insulting.. Nothing about the abuse you took for asking a question. When you go to point out where the abuse started from.. Oh look the Topics been deleted.. Theres no evidence of any abuse and they aint gonna believe you against the "Expert".
David.. still smiling.. |
