A "Bobpaw" is not cow shit green and still posting, perhaps hes threatened with his cough mix?
From another unbiased Forum:
"would just like 2 no if any 1 could help me get some beating in nottinghamshire would like it 2 be near ollerton but not 2 bothed got dog and done it 4 1 season
reply:
try www.pubs.myfunforum.org its FREE,contact "Topgun" or www.nobs.org £5
and another satisfied (un) NOBS ex member
i would try the free one mate
as i no a few people who payed the £5 to nobs and never got any info on there local shoots
just a con if you ask me"
A familiar refrain these days.

A welsh regional officer for NOBS has put his mobile number in his signature - OOOOOps!!!
Hope any antis or ill intentioned people dont keep spamming him with texts!!
Yet again this forum has to correct what NOBS do, really would be better if they let us run their forum instead of proof reading for them all the time. _________________ NickCordery

I hear that the current CEO also has done that - wonder how long before the antis and disaffected ex members of NOBS start ringing him or texting him- is that why he may be stepping down?
Several more people have relayed that rumour to me, I dont honestly know what is going on and nobody on NOBS is saying anything, well nobody says much on their Forum nowadays anyway but the silence does make one wonder. _________________ NickCordery

send an email to stuart your Regional Officer.
Thanks. I emailed Stuart a week or so ago and it sounds like there's not many shoots looking for beaters around here.
Think I'll start asking at local gun shops in case they know of any.
Another dissatisfied customer in waiting perhaps? _________________ NickCordery

And another who has seen the light!
"Yes, now I've been looking around the web for more beating I've come across a few people that don't like NOBS that much. I thought I would have had more success than I have. It's a great idea, I guess some people disagree with the money side of it. "
It WAS a great idea and when it was FREE many people promoted the whole concept and worked hard to get more people involved. Sadly as time passed more and more people discovered that things werent as they should have been, people were badly treated when they raised valid concerns, even being banned without any advice to them as to why.
When fees were introduced peoples expectations were raised but often not fulfilled, thousands of pounds was spent on computer hardware and software without considering the fact that someone would then have to be available to administer the system 24/7 - and to put it politely their membership administration is a mess!
Examination of their forum and main NOBS membership records reveals that many of the originals rarely post or are now actively promoting NOBS.
Search most countryside forums for "NOBS" and you will find that many people are actually opposed to it nowadays.
NOBS presume that they have a monopoly in placing people on shoots and state such in their press and media releases and on most of the show websites where they have a presence- often without paying for stand space - they dont and despite my contacting most of the shows concerned to point out the error none have so far corrected this false claim.
A bit like the Bernard Matthews empire - triumph of marketing over quality. _________________ NickCordery

I'm sure there'll be grouse shooting available in scotland. I'm due a newsletter I could canvass the members that way. I do know that one of the guys I was grouse counting with earlier in the year is a regular beater on a grouse moore in the borders area.
I'm assuming (without asking google) that the cotswolds is pretty far down but then i'm guessing

A Regional Officer who doesnt have a clue about Geography?
Tut tut, doesnt lend one much confidence in how he deals with things, but then there isnt much to do anyway so a little overlap of territories doesnt matter.
For information the Cotswolds run from South Warwickshire to Bath, so are in the West Country including Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Avon. _________________ NickCordery

Someone else has said Hello to a newbie twice in a few posts, must be pleased to actually get someone new!!
Anyway most seem to disappear when they realise that they arent likely to get much beating etc, even though they have paid to try and get some!!! _________________ NickCordery

Posted: Sat Oct 17, 2009 10:09 am Post subject: Where do all the potential Beaters go?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are still looking for beaters with dogs and apparently Graeme has given out our details numerous times but nobody has ever called to enquire? haven't even had the chance to be rude to them and put them off?
Anyone got any insight or thoughts on where these potential recruits disappear to?
This was received by me.
When NOBS mislaid the contact details of the winner and two section winners of their pic compo, took ages to get it sorted, and then some of the winners failed to receive their prize, one from the NOBS CEO particularly, then it may not be that amazing when members loose heart after paying up and distance themselves from NOBS.
He may have sent details- did they receive them?
Did he follow up? _________________ NickCordery

Seems changes are afoot at NOBS!!
Good luck to the new reps, judging by the performance of their predecessors and counterparts they will not find the task over onerous, apart from fielding all the complaints from people who have paid and then get nowt!!
I get a load of people complaining to PuBS at shows and shoots until i explain that its not NOBS and is FREE!!!
membership cards etc are so long delayed that a lot must give up hope, communications are nearly non existent!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hi, it wasn't until I went to the Midland Game show that I reaised it may be possible to get involved beating and picking. As a complete novice with no experience at all, but a love of all things outdoors, its great to have a forum like this with like minded people. Looking forward to picking up some new tips and info. All the best, Andy "
Someone called Partridge60 posted a reply suggesting that this person contact him as he beat on several local shoots and could supply keepers contact details by email, but someone in NOBS subsequently deleted that post.
Presumably they were after even more money from the shoots - which aint gonna happen - or didnt like someone trying to be helpful and get someone started but short circuiting their tortuous system- which 90% of the time is ineffective anyway.
Seems censorship is still rampant at NOBS - will they never learn!
