Some sections of NOBS Forum are now only open to paid up NOBS members, who not only have to pay but then contact their Regional Officer to tell them so they can have access
Whoever thought that system up needs a course on O & M.
Still apart from a few new members there cant be many to be affected as their membership is dwindling fast and many cant be arsed to tell their RO anyway and just give up.
Only a few more weeks and their last years accounts will be available and then we can all see whats what, and how far out their membership figures as real against fictional really are.

It has been brought to my attention that some members have been asked for there personal details by Non members offering to find them beating.

There is no need to give anyone your personal details, (members or non members) other than ROs and they only require a membership number and a contact number in reply to any beating offered.

Seems some person has been underhand in trying to recruit the allegiances of NOBS new members ie, they offer to get them beating or picking up without using the expensive and inefficient ways of NOBS.
However to contact new NOBS members they must also be registered on NOBS Forum, so there is an enemy/ies within.

Seems that there are other disenchanted people within the NOBS organisation who are prepared to help people find another path which works.

My comment:
Well most of the NOBS who were really experienced have long left, grown disenchanted with it, havent renewed membership, got fed up with all the petty restrictions and money making scams etc etc.
Thats not just my opinion only but one which has been expressed at length by others too.
In fact some who have attended NOBS training days have been surprised at the experience (lack of)of some of the senior NOBS now running things.

hi xxxxx , best way to find beating is to become a nobs member which is just £5 a year once you have a membership number one of our regional officers will be a ble to find you some beating in your area .

Excuse me while I fall about laughing, this must surely breach the Trades Description Act, other fora are full of posts re NOBS taking the money and then failing to offer ANYTHING!!!!!
One guy was told to contact his RO, replied that he had and there wasnt anything at all available!!!!
Never mind there is always www.pubs.myfunforum.org to help, FREE OF ANY CHARGES!!

Hi,

I had no luck with NOBS and ended up getting beating via another website.
Maybe it works for some, but it didn't for me.

Another guy who found beating but sadly had paid money for nowt, found PuBS and got sorted in no time.

????? Steve, I am not making any kind of argument for opening up the forum to non members, in fact I am in favour of it being locked down to members only (it stops the Trolls etc). However I was just making what some might consider to be an observation as to why the number of posts seem to have gone down, which was the point of the original post. NOT pathetic, I feel, purely a thought. I hope this is not cryptic in any way.

Restricting access to paid up members did not work did it?
People join and pay then post and after a few days disappear when they realise the futility of NOBS.
Countless times this season I have come across people who say they have paid their subs and then heard absolutely nothing, not even a membership card or email.
All those thousands of pounds spent on computer hardware and sotware, then seemingly no one ever uses it!!!! And apparently there is no one updating things anyway, no wonder they claim 9,000 + members!!!!
Still never mind, NOBS Board of Directors arent accountable to their paying customers and have no incentive to perform - the people paying cant sack the Board!!!

Hi,
Great news that NOBS has managed to start offering insurance, I took advantage of the scheme soon after its launch at the Game Fair. It is certainly a lot cheaper than a lot of the alternatives. The only problem I have is that I do not have any proof of my insurance cover, a lot the shoots I am involved with require writen proof. I have made enquiries some time ago with NOBS HQ and was told that NOBS are waiting for them to be printed does anyone know when we can expect something in writing? I have a shoot coming up that will require evidence which will mean that I will have to insure again with another organisation if I do not get something soon

Why cant NOBS get anything AT ALL right, membership cards not despatched, members paying up and not getting beating, now the much vaunted insurance deal with SACS is exposed as yet another cock up by NOBS team as members have to get cover from other sources WHO DO SEND OUT CONFIRMATION so as to be able to shoot on their shoots.
Even the simplest of tasks is beyond them.
They seem more interested in extending their scurries next year, and they even had to be told how to run them by entrants or there would have been yet more errors as they hadnt realised some people enter multiple dogs!!!
Their book on Picking Up, offered at a discount of £2 at the CLA was even then available at HALF PRICE from Amazon and others, and contained a pic they hadnt got copyright for, and suffered from many inaccuracies and depicted an illegal means of transport for beaters.
Why dont they just get btheir core tasks right and concentrate on placing people on shoots.
And theres more to come no doubt!!
