Then to be charged for a non existant service(?) added to the insult.

You might want to remind them the season runs from 12th August to 1st February so if they offer you a course in July, save your money.
Incidentally most people get paid to learn or at the very least a pie and a pint. A far more valid experience than some poxy course in a summery wood with NO guns, NO birds and NO shooting.
